Renting an Alamo hire car to pick up in Nova Scotia is hassle-free, and you have the opportunity to select a model to meet you and your family or party's needs. It is the most convenient and economical way to travel while you are enjoying your holiday.
Anyone dreaming of a North American road trip vacation will be hard pressed to find a destination that surpasses Canada's Nova Scotia with its magnificent ocean vistas and mesmerising natural beauty. Almost completely surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, the Nova Scotia peninsula offers visitors visual and cultural delights both inland and on the coast. Here are a few reasons why a holiday in Nova Scotia should be high on your list of vacation priorities.
Famed for its Acadian cultural tradition, the south-western-most tip of Nova Scotia is dotted with delightful fishing villages and lofty churches. But that's just the man-made part. The Yarmouth shoreline is hauntingly and beautifully rugged, and it's a fabulous location for a spot of hiking or even a little fishing or seafaring. Peer out at the vastness of the Atlantic from the cosy 20-seat Mug-Up Tearoom beside the delightful Cape Forchu Lightstation, then take a guided walk to see the jaw-dropping views of the coastline from the Leif Ericsson Park.
No trip to Nova Scotia could be complete without a visit to some of its famous lighthouses, which have protected seafarers for literally centuries. In addition to Cape Forchu (the first apple core light station), another drive well worth making, would be a trip to Peggy's Point Lighthouse - probably Canada's most photographed and certainly one its most charming light stations. The rock formations upon which the lighthouse is perched are simply phenomenal and, if all that sea air and walking builds up an appetite, a trip to the nearby Sou'Wester Restaurant is definitely in order (the gingerbread there is the stuff of dreams). There are nine other lightstations dotted along the shoreline, standing bravely before the elements.
Nova Scotia is the kind of destination that yields its best to visitors when they travel through it by car. It's a place that's laden with enchanting seascapes, landscapes and everyday life escapes, such as its numerous urban shopping areas, small artisan shops, grand museums and countless whale watching, walking, kayaking and cycling tours.
If you're thinking of a driving holiday, be sure to hit the roads of Nova Scotia.
